Fun on the 4th

The 4th of July brought the Highland town parade past my parents' house. As usual, we had tons of friends come and all watched the parade from the front yard. What was unusual was the weather. It was about 65 degrees outside and we were cold!

One last thing before the photos... There is a 5K race that run the parade route and starts just before the floats. In typical Dustin style, he wanted to lead the race. He walked a few houses toward the runners and then busted in on the race sprinting as hard as he could. When the actual race leader saw him coming up on him, he looked ticked! It was pretty funny because the real race leader was just running easily and Dustin was pushing as hard as he could. He stopped as soon as he got to our house and was panting like mad. BUT... He led the race! :)

Look at all the blue eyes in this photo!

Aren't we cute?

I don't know what Miles was looking at, but apparently it was something weird.

Yes, this is my husband running around with 7-year-old in the street. :)

I think we have almost the exact same picture with Dustin, Miles and Madison from last year's parade, when he was just an infant.

My boys with some strange frog girls.

We also saw some fireworks at our friends' parents house on Cedar Lake. We went out on their boat and watched them from the water. It was really fun! I was slightly nervous, though, because if he was scared by the noise and started crying, we wouldn't have anywhere to go. But, He LOVED the fireworks. Here's a photo of him mezmerized by the fireworks.

Here's another one from that night with Stephanie.

Last but not least, here's just a random blurry photo of me and Miles. He just looks so dan happy.

That is sooo funny about Dustin leading the race. I laughed for about five minutes over that. Remember the time Dustin was running around the sanctuary during worship practice at FBG and kicking up his legs and stuff? LOL! Miss you guys!
