Drew at 11 months

It's been a while since I've blogged. Who knew having two kids and working full time would get... busy? :)

In the last two months, Drew has changed pretty dramatically. He's gone from baby baby to mini-toddler.

He now:
  • Talks with intention. Mama was his first intentional word but No and Dada came very soon after. We would hear him through the baby monitor cooing "no no no no no no no." But his favorite word is "Uh Oh!" It takes him two breaths to say it. He throws something -- a toy, food from his high chair, whatever -- and let's out an Uh Oh and laughs.
  • Tries to stand/pull up. He started to do that right after 9 months but fell once and hit his chin on the way down. That was the end of that until about last week.
  • Can navigate a stair or two. He doesn't often. He's a pretty timid kid. But he can if the rest of the family is in the kitchen and he's not.
  • Loves his brother's room. It's like a baby stimulation overload in there. So many toys! So many colors! Sooooo much everything! If given the chance, he will crawl there immediately. Miles has been pretty good about sharing and letting his little bro into his space -- let's see how long that lasts.
  • Eats mostly all finger food and is beginning to transition from formula to whole milk. No more making baby food for me! Soon no more $24 cans of Good Start Soothe formula either. He's been going through one can a week!
  • Still wakes up about once per night wanting a bottle.
  • Claps
  • Loves to wrestle with Dustin and Miles. It cracks him up and they just roll all over each other.
  • Is extremely attached to me and Miss Becka at day care. He won't let anyone else hold him (or let Miss Becka hold anyone else). We are at the peak time for separation anxiety and he is definitely showing it.
  • Has had 8 teeth for a while now.

I can't believe we are only a month away from his first birthday. Drew has such a great smile and has added so much to our family. It's funny to me to imagine just the three of us now.

Love you baby boy!
